Diamondoids and biomarkers: As a tool to better define the effects of thermal cracking and microbial oxidation on oils/condensates from reservoirs of the Upper Indus Basin, Pakistan

摘要: The present study examined crude oils and condensates from 12 productive oil field zones in the Upper Indus Basin, Pakistan, located at 33°11′00″N to 33°56′00″N 73°10′00″ 73°56′00″E. These belonged Eocene, Paleocene, Jurassic ages. GC GC–MS parameters revealed that these samples were mature contained marine algal/bacterial organic matter sources an oxidizing environmental/dysoxic environment. total methyladamantanes/admantane ratio varied 4.05 15.25 showed increasing levels of microbial oxidation. diamantane/adamantane 1.14 3.06, methyldiamantanes/diamantane also supports results. degree classification oxidation different best defined by plotting American Petroleum Institute gravity versus diamondoid concentrations. Diamondoid indicated a maturity but based on particular parameter used, which considerably. This further demonstrated utilization both biomarkers diamondoids provided approach for determining level condensates.
