摘要: The lack of agreement between magnetotelluric field measurements and the calculations based on essentially two‐dimensional models with either anisotropy or lateral inhomogeneity necessitates a more complex model earth than has been previously considered. Galerkin finite‐element method is applied to structure tensor conductivity. importance considering conductivity as illustrated by consisting an anisotropic, conducting dike embedded in anisotropic half‐space. This can be distinguished from isotropic nonvanishing diagonal elements impedance tensor, ellipticity indices, skew.
