摘要: Introducing a major paper on the taxonomy of Amphipoda in 1899, Rev. T. R. Stebbing had no illusions about their popular appeal: "No panegyrist has yet been able to evoke anything like enthusiasm favour. To generality observers they are only not repelled because glance which falls upon them is unarrested, ignores them, unconscious presence" (119). As recently as 1968, Dr . D. E. Hurley's main message review was convey very existence terrestrial amphipods (73). So it probably realistic for students amphipods, or landhoppers (17, 38, 66, 118), recognize that there still many biologists who ignorant these animals significance. The aim this contribution biology group an audience familiar with dominant groups arthropods but perhaps unaware Crustacea have representatives other than woodlice (Isopoda:Oniscoidea). Having lain dormant years, systematics Talitroidea (which includes and non-terrestrial species) received increasing attention last 10 years. Following studies by Hurley New Zealand fauna 1950s 60s, Bousfield contributed much
