摘要: When infected, some insects can raise their body temperature by moving to warmer areas. This behavioral fever response help the host overcome infection. However, not all parasites and pathogens are equally susceptible increases in temperature. Elevating of cricket Acheta domesticus from room (22 C) 33 C did reduce survival parasitoid flies or number gregarine gut protozoans, crickets infested with these showed no increase preference. Warmer temperatures (33 infected bacterium Serratia marcescens, prefer temperatures. However intracellular parasite Rickettsiella grylli were more likely survive when was exposed Crickets R. increased preferred 26 32 C. In A. domesticus, may be a specific induced relatively few parasites. Behavioral differ this respect mammals that elicited wide variety pathogens.
