摘要: Background: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence and viral load Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) Human herpesvirus‑6 (HHV‑6) in different histopathologic grades oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Methods: Forty‑five formalin‑fixed paraffin‑embedded tissue section OSCC patients were analyzed by quantitative real‑time polymerase chain reaction for detection EBV HHV‑6. Results: mean age 58.6 years, 69% whom female, 31% male. Overall, positive rate HHV‑6 16.7% 27.1%, respectively; 27.9 × 103 38.5 No correlation demonstrated between DNA ( P = 0.35) 0.38) at grades. Conclusions: These findings neither lend support hypothesis that are directly involved nor rule out possibility these viruses play an indirect role carcinogenesis area. Keywords: virus, herpesvirus‑6, infection, cancer
