摘要: Dental NGOs and volunteers working in disadvantaged communities around the world do so with best of intentions high motivation. Regrettably, impact this engagement on oral health at population level remains rather low. This is mainly due to choice inappropriate approaches, failure integrate their projects within existing care systems lack sustainability. paper proposes concept Basic Package Oral Care (BPOC) as a guiding framework for dental NGO volunteer activities. The main components BPOC (Oral Urgent Treatment, Affordable Fluoride Toothpaste, Atraumatic Restorative Treatment) offer many opportunities effective, affordable sustainable activities that aim improve community level. Only through reorientation services towards new roles can sustained global be possible. Recommendations are given could help process change.
