microRNA-338-3p promotes ox-LDL-induced endothelial cell injury through targeting BAMBI and activating TGF-β/Smad pathway.

摘要: microRNAs (miRNAs) have been revealed to participate in the pathological process of atherosclerosis (AS). However, exact role miR-338-3p, a target miRNA BMP and activin membrane-bound inhibitor (BAMBI), its possible molecular mechanism AS remain unidentified. In this study, we found that BAMBI was significantly decreased, whereas miR-338-3p increased patients with oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL)-induced HUVEC cells. Furthermore, overexpression decreased cell viability elevated apoptosis, inhibition promoted inhibited apoptosis ox-LDL-induced Moreover, TGF-β/Smad pathway activation A dual-luciferase reporter assay confirmed direct interaction between 3'-untranslated region messenger RNA. suppression ameliorated effect against injury. conclusion, our study thus suggests injury by targeting activating pathway, which may provide novel promising therapeutic for AS.
