摘要: Objectives High levels of plasma homocysteine have been reported to be toxic the vascular endothelium, thereby creating an environment hypercoagulability and occlusion. Elevated has as a risk factor for young adult central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) cases. This study aimed see if oxidative stress is independent or dependent. Methods 23 CRVO patients 54 age sex-matched controls were included in study. Oxidative markers thiobarbituric acid-reacting substance (TBARS), superoxide dismutase (SOD), total thiols, glutathione peroxidase antioxidant capacity (TAC) estimated. The effect (25–200 μM) on cultured bovine endothelial cells (BREC) parameter TBARS was measured. Results There significant increase cases compared with (p=0.000). SOD TAC significantly lower than (p=0.000, p=0.022). negative correlation between (p=0.00) positive (p=0.029). Nominal regression analysis showed that influence significantly. in-vitro BREC revealed increased dose time dependently. Conclusion are known factors CRVO. can influenced by both TAC, contributing aetiopathology increasing stress.
