摘要: Germinable seed numbers in the surface soil were estimated across three snowbank gradients montane tundra of interior Alaska. Vegetation, productivity, and disturbance change with distance these gradients. Seed densities are range 500 to 1800 seeds m-2 upper 5 cm soil. An earlier study Eriophorum tussock nearby revealed over 2000 m~2 These results show that banks (and presumably rain) relatively larger than expected. Published reports do however suggest bank size decreases latitude grassland, heath vegetations. Contrary published theories, there was no significant relation between disturbance. increased above ground vascular plant productivity. This is most simply explained by conjecture reproduction rain increase The relative abundance graminoids higher dicots, less) what would be expected from their cover vegetation.
