摘要: During the last two decades powerful new instruments (e.g. transmis sion and scanning electron microscopes) have provided exciting in sights into architecture of mammalian kidney. Precise morphological details recently been described for a variety species, numerous structural differences among species are becoming evi dent. We must correlate these observations with known physiological diff erences in order to better understand structural-functional relation ships nephron. The precise human renal anatomy still illusive owing unavailability well-fixed normal tissue. This review reflects on several important regarding kidney structure. Three basic principles underlie modern studies. First, state animal at time study be accurately defined. Second, combined use light microscopy, transmission freeze-fracture, histochemistry allows one eliminate artifacts that may inhere any technique. Finally, application stereological techniques avoids experimental bias presentation quantitative results. Detailed studies led more definition terms. For example, three families corpuscles being commonly dog ( 13, 14, 15), 14), rabbit (49), Psammomys (8)
