摘要: Background: Although primarily a respiratory disorder, the coronavirus pandemic has paralyzed almost all aspects of health-care delivery Emergency procedures are likely continuing in most countries, however, some them raises certain concerns to surgeons such as endoscopic endonasal skull base surgeries The aim this study is present current situation from developing country perspective dealing with cases at time COVID-19 Methods: A cross-sectional analytical survey was distributed among neurosurgeons who performed emergency during Cairo, Egypt, between May 8, 2020, and June 7, 2020 entailed patients' information (demographics, preoperative screening, postoperative symptoms), surgical team (demographics operative (personal protective equipment [PPE] utilization basal craniectomy) Results: Our completed on (16 completed, 100% response rate) patients were screened for preoperatively through complete blood cell (CBC) (100%), computed tomography (CT) chest (68 8%), examination (50%), C-reactive protein (CRP) serological testing (6 3%) Only 18 8% utilized N95 mask goggles, 12 5% face shield, none used PAPRs Regarding craniectomy, 81 3% Kerrison Rongeur chisel, 25% high-speed drill, 6 mucosal shaver None developed any symptoms first 3 weeks postsurgery one high fever negative nasopharyngeal swabs Conclusion: In countries limited resources, screening using examination, CBC, CT might be sufficient replace Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction Developing require adequate support tests, PPE, critical care ventilators [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] Copyright Surgical Neurology International property Scientific Scholar LLC its content may not copied or emailed multiple sites posted listserv without copyright holder's express written permission However, users print, download, email articles individual use This abstract abridged No warranty given about accuracy copy Users should refer original published version material full (Copyright applies Abstracts )
