摘要: Motivated by the genetic hypothesis that natural selection results in maximization of equilibrium population size, we quantified this latter for laboratory populations flour beetle Tribolium castaneum, using gamma probability density function. Gamma functions were fitted to adult numbers each experimental treatments started with frequencies corn oil sensitive (cos) allele range 0–1 at intervals 0.1. The function adequately described all observed distributions. However, contrary theory, statistical comparisons distribution indicate polymorphic did not converge same identical and are intermediate size two homozygous groups. need a stochastic theory combines both is discussed.Key words: selection, Tribolium, distribution, maximum size...
