摘要: Estimates of covariances and sire expected progeny differences additive nonadditive direct maternal genetic effects for birth weaning weights were obtained using records from 1,581 straightbred crossbred calves the Angus-Brahman multibreed herd at University Florida. Covariances estimated by Restricted Maximum Likelihood, a Generalized Expectation-Maximization algorithm applied to populations. heritabilities correlations groups within ranges values found in literature these traits. interactibilities (ratios variances phenotypic variances) somewhat smaller than correlations. Sire total predictions weight tended increase with fraction Brahman alleles, whereas similar sires all Angus fractions. These results showed that it is feasible evaluate structured population. Data purebred breeders commercial producers will be needed accomplish same goal national level.
