摘要: High levels of social capital may be associated with positive mental health in adults. However, quantifying the various dimensions has presented a challenge due part to diverse definitions and measures used. Data from representative, population-wide survey Australian adults aged 16 years older were used investigate links between morbidity. Social comprised three constructs was measured at individual level: feelings trust safety, community participation neighbourhood connections reciprocity. Mental by 10-item Kessler (K10) instrument assessed symptoms psychological distress (i.e., depression anxiety) over previous month. Community showed weak, reciprocity moderate association distress. Having higher feeling safe consistently low distress, after adjusting for socio-demographic characteristics conditions. The results clearly demonstrate that having people, are lower risk implications conceptualising measuring collective (contextual) discussed. findings also suggest importance examining interrelationships socio-economic status, community-dwelling
