摘要: Purpose Iron deficiency is prevalent in idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH), but whether iron or ferritin levels are associated with (PH) the general population unknown. Methods We performed a cross-sectional analysis of data on (exposure), and PH (pulmonary artery systolic pressure>40mmHg echocardiogram) (outcome) subjects complete exposures outcomes as well covariates (n = 2,800) enrolled Jackson Heart Study, longitudinal prospective observational cohort study heart disease African-Americans from Jackson, Mississippi. Iron was defined serum level 47ng/mL– 95ng/mL; > 95ng/mL– 171ng/mL; Males ≤ 110ng/mL; 110ng/mL– 182ng/mL; 182ng/mL– 294ng/mL; 294ng/mL), using same modeling technique lowest quartile referent. Results Median pressure 27mmHg (interquartile range 23-31mmHg) cohort. 147 (5.2%) had 140 (5.0%) deficiency. However, PH, only 4 were also deficient. The crude PR 0.5 (95% CI 0.2–1.4) iron-deficiency compared to non-deficient. In by quartiles ferritin, adjusting for age sex, there no evidence association 2 (PR 1.1, 95% 0.7–1.6), 3 0.8, 0.5–1.3), 0.5–1.2) 1 (referent group, 1). Further analyses relationship between log-transformed continuous variable showed similar results. Conclusions In prevalence iron-deficient non-iron deficient subjects. There (or iron) PH. Clinical Implications has been IPAH, rare disorder. large community-based sample African-Americans, that low PH.
