摘要: Abstract Benthic macroinvertebrate fossils can be seen towards to the top of Romualdo Member Santana Formation, in Araripe Basin, Northeast Brazil, and provide paleoenvironmental paleobiogeographical information regarding Cretaceous marine transgression which reached interior basins Brazil. We analyse taphonomic characteristics concentrations two outcrops (Torrinha Torre Grande) within municipality Araripina, Pernambuco, order enhance our understanding paleoenvironment western portion Basin. At outcrop Torrinha, proximal tempestitic taphofacies were identified. These predominantly consist ceritid, cassiopid, later, naticid gastropods as well undetermined bivalves. Given this lack variability it deduced that there no significant changes during successive stages sedimentation. In Grande distal identified from base respectively pointing a decrease paleodepth. Asides macroinvertebrates present are also echinoids – unequivocal evidence for conditions. occurrences appear restricted Araripina (the Southeast Basin) confirming previously published hypothesis suggesting originated neighbouring Parnaiba Basin west. This study molluscs similar age those Member's equivalent rock units Sergipe-Alagoas (SE-AL) connection between these Early Cretaceous.
