Evaluation of satellite-based evapotranspiration estimates in China

摘要: Accurate and continuous estimation of evapotranspiration (ET) is crucial for effective water resource management. We used the moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) standard ET algorithm forced by MODIS land products three-hourly solar radiation datasets to estimate daily actual China (ET_MOD) years 2001 2015. From point scale validations using seven eddy covariance tower sites, results showed that agreement ET_MOD estimates observations was higher monthly values than instantaneous values. Under major river basin subbasin levels’ comparisons with variable infiltration capacity hydrological model estimates, exhibited a slight overestimation in northern underestimation southern China. The mean annual agreed favorably coefficients determination (R2) 0.93 0.83 at scale, respectively. At national spatiotemporal variations matched well those from various sources.
