Evaluation of a night respite community palliative care service

摘要: A three-phase project was undertaken to develop and evaluate a community night respite palliative care service for patients family carers. An assessment tool identify those most in need of developed tested. The reliable feasible use practice. Care aides were trained provide respite. Fifty-three participated over 11 months. Findings revealed the types families respite, amount needed, location death. There is evidence that who would have been transferred an inpatient setting end-of-life able die at home with support service. Families extremely appreciative limited cost comparison suggested costs lower than if had hospital and/or hospice care. Recommendations practice are offered.
