Does dance-based training improve balance in adult and young old subjects? A pilot randomized controlled trial.

摘要: Background and aims: Loss of balance is a major risk factor for falls in the elderly, physical exercise may improve both elderly middle-aged people. We propose clinical trial to test efficacy an program based on dance improving adult young old subjects. Methods: carried out mono-institutional, randomized, controlled trial. 40 subjects (aged 58 68 yr) were randomly allocated two separate groups: group (n=20) followed 3- month program; control did not engage activities. Differences between end training period baseline assessed using four different tests: Tinetti, Romberg, improved Sit up go. Results: Results showed significant improvement at program, whereas show any changes. The comparison variations scores highly difference. 17 20 reported great or moderate satisfaction with activity. Conclusions: suggest that activity hence be useful tool reducing falling elderly. also revealed interesting psychosocial benefits.
