摘要: Objective The Leapfrog CPOE evaluation tool has been promoted as a means of monitoring computerized physician order entry (CPOE). We sought to determine the relationship between scores and rates preventable adverse drug events (ADE) potential ADE. Materials methods A cross-sectional study 1000 adult admissions in five community hospitals from October 1, 2008 September 30, 2010 was performed. Observed ADE were compared with reported by tool. primary outcome rate secondary composite ADE. Results performance highly related outcome. 43% relative reduction predicted for every 5% increase (rate ratio 0.57; 95% CI 0.37 0.88). In absolute terms, four fewer per 100 overall difference −4.2; −7.4 −1.1). statistically significant outcome, however, not detected. Discussion Our findings support use evaluating after implementation, addressed current certification standards. Conclusions Scores closely relate actual ADE. testing may alert providers vulnerabilities highlight areas further improvement.
