摘要: 2000 years of mining activity at Wiesloch, Germany left behind a legacy wastes, some which have extremely high contents toxic elements like As, Cd, Tl, Sb, Pb and Zn. To evaluate their long-term impact on different environmental compartments, the detailed monitoring presented here focused mineralogical chemical characterization waste materials, consisting dumpings with ore fragments, flotation tailings medieval metallurgical slags. Leaching experiments these using eluents compositions pHs were carried out to assess conditions governing mobilization re-fixation species. It was shown, that carbonate host rock mineralization, loess blanket covering area organically rich municipal sewage sludges deposited top tailings, represent potential barriers dispersion over much larger area. Moreover, particulate emissions from steep, unvegetated escarpments tailing heaps continuous thread environment.
