A semantic sense-and-respond approach to managing IT-enabled buyer-supplier relationships: an action research study

摘要: As a reflection of the strategic importance buyer-supplier relationships in supply chains, information sharing and knowledge exchange have been found to positively impact coordination, transparency, perception trust between buyers sellers. However, our about IT as an enabler buyer-seller is limited. Against this backdrop, we examined how large retailer, BuildSmart, adapted leveraged portal help 'listen voice their suppliers'. Through collaborative action research project, developed semantic sense-and-respond approach design implement mechanisms that allowed BuildSmart continuously sense suppliers experienced generally improve supplier relationships. result, present model for managing IT-enabled demonstrate conceptual modeling can be combined with thinking support process management.
