摘要: This chapter reviews the characteristics of quinolones that make them useful for treatment enteric infections, and role these agents in treating infections. There are a limited number case reports causing arthralgia when used longer periods. The majority have been children with cystic fibrosis, which is known to be associated arthralgia, or prolonged use pefloxacin, most potent initiating arthropathy animals. indications quinolone specific infections clinical conditions. study patients had shortest duration illness, however, was only one did not show reduction diarrhea duration. efficacy antimicrobial prophylaxis traveler's well established by studies conducted starting 1970s doxycycline, then trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. at least six fluoroquinolone diarrhea. All showed reducing incidence protection afforded ranged from 76 100%, similar what found using nonquinolone agents. Still, if someone going particularly high-risk area short time, likely markedly diminish risk Plesiomonas shigelloides another putative cause gastroenteritis, strains almost all susceptible quinolones.
