摘要: Abstract The nakhlite group of martian meteorites found in the Antarctic contain varying abundances both and terrestrial secondary alteration phases. aim this study was to use transmission electron microscopy (TEM) compare embodied within a single meteorite find – MIL 090032. Martian veins 090032 are composed poorly ordered Fe-smectite phyllosilicate. This poorly-ordered smectite appears be equivalent nanocrystalline phyllosilicate/hydrated amorphous gel phase previously described other nakhlites. Chemical differences phyllosilicate between different nakhlites imply localised alteration, which occurred close surface Both structurally compositionally shows similarities amorphous/poorly recently discovered soil by Mars Curiosity Rover at Rocknest, Gale Crater. Terrestrially derived phases include jarosite gypsum, silicates, Fe-oxides hydroxides. Similarities mineralogy chemistry suggest conditions on were similar those Antarctic. At sites small amount fluid low temperatures infiltrated rock became acidic as result conversion Fe2+ Fe3+ under oxidising conditions.
