摘要: This study was conducted on the hydrochemistry of shallow groundwater and surface water in Ndop plain, North West Cameroon. The objectives were to determine physico-chemical characteristics water, controls chemistry suitability for drinking irrigation. Forty-six 26 samples investigated. Field measurements physical parameters preceded by chemical analyses major ions F-. About 69% sources had pH values below 6.5, classifying as barely acidic. Electrical conductivity ( Ca2+>Mg2+>K+ for cations HCO3->>NO3-≥Cl->SO42- for anions. Major ion concentrations low, within WHO guidelines but F-concentrations much lower (<0.39 mg/l) guideline value. Main types proportions Na-HCO3 (53 %), Ca-HCO3 (35 %) a mixed Na-Ca-HCO3 (11%). Predominant processes influencing incongruent dissolution silicate minerals cation-exchange Na+ in rocks Ca2+ in water. low indicated water-rock interactions short residence time. analysed suitable irrigation.
