摘要: Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging is a commonly used diagnostic tool. Compared with standard gadolinium-based contrast agents, ferumoxytol (Feraheme, AMAG Pharmaceuticals, Waltham, MA), as an alternative medium, feasible in patients impaired renal function. Other attractive features of i.v. include prolonged blood pool phase and delayed intracellular uptake. With its unique pharmacologic, metabolic, and properties, may play crucial role future the central nervous system, various organs outside cardiovascular system. Preclinical clinical studies have demonstrated overall safety effectiveness this novel agent, rarely occurring anaphylactoid reactions. The purpose review to describe general organ-specific properties ferumoxytol, well advantages potential pitfalls associated use imaging. To more fully demonstrate applications throughout body, atlas was created available online supplementary material.
