摘要: We investigated habitat use by migrating whooping cranes (Oms americana) in Saskatchewan between 1986 and 1990. At foraging roosting sites a sample of randomly selected we measured various parameters. Palustrine lacustrine wetlands were the most frequently used wetlands. Temporary seasonal primary roost during spring migration, semi-permanent permanent fall. Cranes attracted to areas higher than average wetland density. Land within 2 km was intensively modified man. Cereal crops feeding areas. Mean distances potential disturbance lower Because primarily private ownership, cooperative approach preservation is needed wildlife managers landowners. PROC. NORTH AM.
