摘要: Aim: Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is a highly prevalent and significant cause of disability which often resistant to pharmacological management. Virtual reality (VR) an emerging technology with the potential influence CLBP, has been suggested as alternative opioids for VR goalfocused, computer-simulated allowing modification user's experience their perceived world.Materials/Methods: A narrative review peer-reviewed literature using systematic search strategy, sole reviewer data extraction. Conclusions: demonstrated effectiveness in reducing acute, experimental chronic pain. This describes theoretical basis therapeutic effects on CLBP via three distinct mechanisms: distraction, neuromodulation graded exposure therapy. Furthermore, clinical application will be considered, including discussion ethical issues associated technology.Implications rehabilitationVirtual management acute pain. The mechanisms are equivocal but include body perception therapy.VR may show greater efficacy patients kinesiophobia.VR effect increased immersion.
