摘要: The Quiriquina Formation in central Chile is famous for its abundant and diverse ammonite assemblages of Maastrichtian age. In the type locality around Concepcion Bay Bio-Bio Region we have identified a total 30 species referred to 17 genera. Hypophylloceras (Neophylloceras) ramosum, H. (N.) hetonaiense, inflatum, surya, Anagaudryceras politissimum, Gaudryceras kayei, Zelandites varuna, Pseudophyllites indra, Kitchinites darwini, Kossmaticeras (Natalites) erbeni, Grossouvrites gemmatus, Gunnarites spinosissimus, Maorites densicostatus, Pachydiscus (P. ) jacquoti chilensis, Menuites fresvillensis, Diplomoceras cylindraceum, Phylloptychoceras sp., Baculites huenickeni, vicentei Eubaculites carinatus been recorded previously from Formation. Hoploscaphites constrictus quiriquiniensis sensu WILCKENS (1904). Phyllopachyceras forbesianum, subtilineatum, cf. bhavaniformis anceps are new records added here. vicentensis n. ifrimae joharae gutierrezi sp. gerardoi new. kayei specimens with diameters excess 200 mm present marked changes during growth. politissimum varuna also show strong ontogenetic changes. darwini differs material Antarctica; propose that latter should by separated. presence jacquoti, anceps, indicates age fresvillensis confirms late most assemblage presented shows cosmopolitan Indo-Pacific affinities few European Tethyan links.
