摘要: Abstract By combining gel filtration on Sephadex G-15 and G-10 ion exchange chromatography Cellex CM, 6 different peaks of physiological activity were separated from aqueous extracts Periplaneta americana corpora cardiaca. The following activities assayed the fractions; heart accelerating (HA), hyperglycaemic (HG), increasing frequency spontaneous firing recorded nerves leaving 6th abdominal ganglion (SFI). had activities; (1) HA SFI (2) HA, HG (3) (4) (5) (6) HA. Each was inactivated by treatment with trypsin. Analogies physiologically active factors other authors similar tissue are discussed, e.g. possible identity material present in peak 1 neurohormone D Unger factor P1 Brown. None corresponds to elution characteristics a pure sample 5-hydroxy-tryptamine.
