摘要: In pediatric oncology, the diagnosis of a hematologic malignancy and presence central venous catheter (CVC) have been identified as significant risk factors for development thromboembolism (VTE). There remain little data regarding CVC associated with CVC-related VTE. Using VTE oncology database in quaternary care center, retrospective cohort study was conducted children below 18 years old cancer from November 5, 2012 to April 4, 2016. Patient, factors, occurrence were analyzed identify patient clinically Utilizing χ, Mann-Whitney, Fisher exact tests, compared across yes/no groups. Of 198 patients, 22 cases identified. Eighteen events CVC-associated, occurring 9% population. Peripherally inserted lines older ages The use tissue-plasminogen activator occlusion decreased rates, suggesting protective potential.
