摘要: The chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), formerly known as Epstein-Barr virus syndrome, is a clinical state of some complexity and uncertain etiology. In order to characterize in comprehensive manner the status laboratory markers associated with cellular immune function patients this 30 clinically defined CFS were studied. All subjects found have multiple abnormalities these markers. most consistent immunological abnormality detected among patients, when compared normal controls, was low natural killer (NK) cell cytotoxicity. number NK cells, by reactivity monoclonal antibody NKH.1 (CD56), elevated, but killing K562 tumor cells per CD56 significantly diminished. Lymphoproliferative responses after stimulation phytohemagglutinin pokeweed mitogen decreased those production gamma interferon following stimulation. Lymphocyte phenotypic marker analysis peripheral blood lymphocytes showed that there significant differences between controls. There an increase percentage suppressor-cytotoxic T lymphocytes, CD8, proportionally larger CD8 expressing class II activation marker. Most had elevated CD2 which expressed CDw26. numbers CD4 helper subset CD4+CD29+ not different from was, however, decrease suppressor inducer CD4+ CD45RA+ cells. B CD20 CD21, coexpressed CD5. patterns observed compatible viral reactivation syndrome.
