摘要: Abstract Groupe de Personnages (1938), a canvas painting created in Paris during the Spanish Civil War, required stabilization prior to exhibition. Upon examination, flaking paint and tiny spherical protrusions within those layers were identified. A project was initiated determine materials that could have contributed current state of this painting. Because had not undergone harsh conservation treatments unique opportunity study Miro's techniques from period great artistic experimentation. Scientific analysis revealed identity pigments presence zinc soaps. In addition, because Miro prolific writer, evidence found his letters, studio notes interviews corroborate analytical results – contributing more complete understanding intentions conservation-related consequences selected materials.
