摘要: Abstract Zircon is used as an additive to silica ceramics for use in investment casting improve their high temperature properties. However, little known about the mechanisms by which this occurs. To investigate effect of zircon addition a ceramic number silica–zircon formulations were created utilising three different batches with particle size distributions (PSDs), surface areas and contaminant inclusions. The inclusion zircon, present from ball-milling stage manufacture, appeared have large on room flexural strength, strength creep It also suggested that any increase post-fired cristobalite content change crystal growth morphology was due inherent inclusions not because itself. Hence, materials should account variation order maintain specific material properties required.
