摘要: ABSTRACT Introduction: Smokers have a reduction in the muscle mass and fatigue resistance and, possibly, physical activity practice contributes positively to this state. Objective: This study had as objective analyze adaptations of skeletal musculature interaction between cigarette smoke exposure. Methods: 32 male rats were divided groups exposed smoke, exercised (G1) sedentary (G3), not (G2) (G4). The expo-sured was done by combustion 10 cigarettes an inhalation camera during 30 minutes, twice day, five days per week, 15 days; aerobic exercise consisted daily walking sessions 60 minutes on treadmill, once week. After sacrifice, soleus obtained its cuts stained HE technique submitted hystochemical method NADH-TR. Results: Group G1 presented more alterations, also lack enzymatic activity, same occurring G3, but with less intensity; G2 normal pattern fibers, being fibers G4 preserved. Regarding morphometry, there significant difference for factor (p = 0.007), while no differences observed exposure 0.668) 0.077). Conclusion: wistar adult rats, accentuated histological changes muscle, causing alteration increase fiber diameter. Keywords: tobacco, exercise, musculoskeletal system, histology.
