摘要: Cognitive control, otherwise known as executive function, refers to our ability flexibly adjust or regulate habitual actions behaviors. As a cluster of separable components, it depends heavily on the prefrontal cortex, one last brain regions reach adult maturity. control processes are thought be among key factors for scholastic success, and thus, underdeveloped cognitive abilities might contribute an achievement gap. In this chapter, we first discuss prolonged maturation cortex that leads delayed emergence in children. We briefly describe some functional effects cortex. then how experience environmental such education socioeconomic status may affect development abilities, before turning training interventions promising avenue reducing “gap” both healthy children those with developmental disabilities. Taken together, hope is by understanding interaction development, factors, promise children, knowledge can help guide educational inform policy.
