摘要: Over the last two decades, there has been a radical shift in anthropology from stable, rooted and mappable identities to fluid, transitory migratory forms of belonging. Displacement become new trope through which anthropologists have come look at world. As result, place received an ambiguous position. Focusing on life experiences one Somali refugee woman living Melbourne her engagement with place, this article questions current emphasis space boundlessness anthropological discourses displacement. It argues that rather than developing theoretical concepts bypass people's experiences, zooming individuals' lifeworlds allows for close particularity everydayness being-in-place. shows need more complex nuanced view displacement – values lived takes placement seriously.
