摘要: ABSTRACTA parameter “Settling Index (SI)” has been proposed mathematically. The index was used to evaluate the performance of flocculation studies coal fines in tailings collected from a preparation plant India. Effect process parameters on settling rate were investigated using anionic polyacrylamide as flocculant at following levels: Pulp density: 6–12% solids (w/w); slurry pH: 4–10; and dosage: 6.5–26 g/t-solid. optimum conditions for obtained dosage 19.5 gpt, pH 8, pulp density 8% solid (w/w) showed about 168 mm/min. At condition rate, settled 40.84% (w/w). Settling found be useful tool analyzing performance. An empirical model developed experimental data with an R2 value .929.
