摘要: Objective Reassessment of the predictive value sociodemographic factors on preterm birth. Design Population-based case—control study. Setting England, Wales and Scotland. Sample The study sample consisted 5630 primiparous 9538 multiparous women who were delivered during first week March 1958 in Britain. Multiple births excluded. Method Factors potentially birth assessed for separately, using split-sample cross-validation technique. Main outcome measure Preterm birth, defined as occurring before 259 days gestation. Results rates 54 53 per 1000 births, respectively. In low maternal age (under 20 years) was only variable that (P= 0.01). However, 10.7% among associated with age. women, univariable analysis, employment status statistically significantly birth. This association disappeared when adjusted by other variables model.
