摘要: The fourth season of the Burials and Identity component Desert Migrations Project in 2010 focused on completion excavation work at two main cemeteries (TAG001 TAG012) smaller-scale sampling a number nearby cemeteries. investigation burials semi-nucleated escarpment cemetery TAG063 produced interesting new information Proto-Urban Garamantian funerary rites, dating to latter centuries bc . excavations TAG001 were extended areas characterised by different burial types stepped tombs that excavated 2009. A second type fairly monumental was identified, but these had been heavily robbed it not possible demonstrate conclusively pre-dated tombs. Most other simple shaft relatively sparsely furnished with imported goods, comparison larger tombs, though quite lot organic material identified (matting, wood, gourds, textiles leather). At TAG012, series additional mudbrick emptied. All robbed, pockets original fill associated finds survived intact, yielding some assemblages. majority appear be Late Garamantian, contained artefacts from much earlier times.
