A profile of black and Hispanic subgroups' access to dental care: findings from the National Health Interview Survey.

摘要: This study examined which black and Hispanic minority subgroups were least likely to obtain dental care why, based on logistic regression analyses of the 1986 National Health Interview Survey. Blacks Hispanics less apt have private insurance coverage, be knowledgeable about purpose fluoride, been a dentist in past year, and, when they did go, more gone response symptoms rather than for preventive reasons, compared whites. Logistic adults 18 years age older children adolescents 2 17 showed that following individuals had lowest probability having year: males, members larger families, who unemployed or blue-collar jobs, those lived South nonmetropolitan areas, people perceived their health fair poor, with no insurance. Mexican-Americans regardless income education. In general, findings confirmed importance insurance, as well suggesting need school-based programs public clinic-based education outreach efforts targeting adults.
