摘要: Serological tests for antibodies specific Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) antigens are frequently used to define infection status and the differential diagnosis of other pathogens responsible mononucleosis syndrome. Using only three parameters [viral capsid antigen (VCA) IgG, VCA IgM EBV nuclear (EBNA)-1 IgG],it is normally possible distinguish acute from past infection: presence IgG without EBNA-1 indicates infection, whereas typical infection. However, serological findings may sometimes be difficult interpret as can present or in cases all detected simultaneously case recent during course reactivation. A profile isolated also create some doubts. In order these patterns correctly, it necessary determine avidity, identify anti-EBV by immunoblotting, look heterophile antibodies, anti-EA (D) viral genome using molecular biology methods. These make solve any problems that arise routine laboratory practice.
