摘要: [1] Marls of the Metochia section (Gavdos, Greece) have been analyzed using geochemistry, environmental magnetism, and diffuse reflectance spectrometry to study late Miocene paleoenvironmental changes in eastern Mediterranean region. Fuzzy c-means cluster analysis (FCM), combined with nonlinear mapping (NLM), has performed on a multiparameter data set identify characterize terrigenous source areas from North Africa Aegean margin. The parameters included FCM were selected basis their univariate characteristics ability trace input regional areas. hard isothermal remanent magnetization (HIRM), calculated carbonate-free basis, Ti/Al ratio are used distinguish aeolian dust transport mechanisms material originating Africa. Mass accumulation rates Al Ni employed represent CaCO3, Ca abundance, provides information concerning marine productivity Mn/Al is reductive diagenesis marls. After performing NLM analysis, four-cluster solution greatest stability describes both African European clearly reveals change dominated by lower parts at top but also conditions arid more humid ∼8.2 Ma.
