摘要: In a previous paper recently published in this journal, we argue that the two main theories of carcinogenesis (SMT and TOFT) should be considered as compatible, at metaphysical, epistemological biological levels. reply to our contribution, Bizzarri Cucina claim are wrong since SMT TOFT opposite incompatible paradigms. Here, show their arguments not satisfactory. Indeed, authors go through same mistakes already addressed. particular, they confuse reductionism, an ontological frame, genetic determinism, causal pathway. Beside, make inadequate use Kuhnian notion paradigm shift. Finally, confirm conclusion: there is no strong argument totally abandon somatic mutation theory. It describes partial pathway, compatible with one proposed by TOFT.
