摘要: Cultivar identification and cultivar relatedness are important issues for horticultural breeders. Characterization is most correct of plants. It helps to understand the genetic diversity, trace out phylogenetic relationship, taxonomical status, registration, plant variety protection, farmer’s right etc. A number classical advanced methods comprising different parameters cytology, morphology, physiology, phenolic compounds, DNA markers utilized. Every method has its merits demerits. Considering limitations each technique one should plan characterization program on need basis. Attempts have been made highlight application all techniques by authors ornamental crops.
