摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses that modern work on alkaloid chemical ecology is highly mechanized, using gas chromatography–mass spectroscopy (GC–MS) or high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with computer libraries of spectra to analyze mixtures and identify compounds. has multiplied reports simpler, more volatile, variable alkaloids in the studies ecology, since meaningful data are easy obtain from these classes methods available. Although activities extremely varied frequently multiple natural systems, most seem related interaction lone pair electrons nitrogen DNA synthesis, nerve function, specific receptors. Enough exceptions known, however, be able predict many new pharmacological have yet discovered. The also it possible well-chosen laboratory surrogates for herbivores, predators, pathogens provide reliable activity. Models adequate predictors effects but enough cases poor correlation known cast suspicion relevance populations ecological field.
