摘要: Abstract The optimal management of hemopoietic malignancies in the elderly requires specific strategies targeted at peculiar clinico–biologic features such patients. In time frame spanning from 1983 to 1998, several clinical trials have been performed Aviano Cancer Center, Italy, aimed extending knowledge natural history and evaluating efficacy toxicity different chemotherapy programs specifically devised for older subjects affected by acute myeloid leukemia, myelodysplasia, non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, or multiple myeloma. Here most relevant results are summarized information stemmed studies. present report rather than provide a comprehensive review on hematologic neoplasms elderly, mainly reflects ‘philosophy’ deriving 15 years studies group field geriatric oncology/hematology.
