摘要: Objective To evaluate the consistency between a randomly recruited Western European population and participants of Framingham Heart Study, with respect to rates determinants progression hypertension. Methods Among non-hypertensive individuals enrolled in Flemish Study on Environment, Genes Health Outcomes, we assessed from optimal (<120/80 mmHg), normal (120-129/80-84 mmHg) high-normal (130-139/85-89 blood pressure hypertension (≥140/90 mmHg). Our analysis included 781 women 675 men (age range 10-77 years) who were followed up for median 4.6 years (interquartile 2.4-8.1 years). statistical methods Kaplan-Meier survival function estimates, log-rank test multiple Cox regression. Results In younger than 50 years, 4-year associated optimal, 7.4% [95% confidence interval (CI) 5.5-9.3], 17.9% (95% Cl 14.3-21.6) 24.5% 18.7-30.2), respectively. Corresponding aged or older 16.4% 11.2-22.5), 26.3% 19.8-32.9) 54.0% 45.7-62.3), multivariate regression, category body mass index at baseline strong predictors Before age male sex fast heart rate also forerunners Conclusions The stepwise increase incidence across three categories our cohort was similar that observed Study. findings, which have informed several guidelines, can be extrapolated population.
