摘要: We show that stochastic resonance (SR)-like phenomena in a nonlinear system can be described terms of maximization information-theoretic distance measures between probability distributions the output variable or, equivalently, via minimum error detection. This offers new and unifying framework for SR-like which ``resonance'' becomes independent specific method used to measure it, static or dynamic character device it occurs, nature input signal. Our approach also provides fundamental limits performance yields an alternative set design criteria optimization information processing capabilities devices.
