摘要: Regional analyses of precipitation data were conducted using an index flood type methodology and probability weighted moments parameter estimates for the generalized extreme value distribution. Annual maximum series collected at 115 stations durations 2 6 hours 315 24-hour duration. Because climate in Washington State varies from arid to rain forest, issues homogeneity region definition posed major problems. Those problems circumvented by considering state be a heterogeneous superregion. Climatologically homogenous subregions within superregion defined terms mean annual (MAP) rather than geographic location. The subregional values coefficients variation Cv skew γ found vary systematically with MAP across This allowed superregional expressed as continuous variables instead conventional fixed eliminated boundary normally associated subregion definition. largest areas shorter durations. Smaller humid forest environments. All solutions within, or near, II family.
